Hello, yesterday i tried using the xdk recovery disc on my xdk, but my XDK wouldn't boot it...so like an idiot i put the files from the disc onto my xbox's E drive thru xbox neighborhood. When i ran the xbe the xbox did like it was supposed to until...i guess it formatted the E partition. Now when i try to boot my xdk it wont boot to the dashboard...it just hangs at the xbox splash screen...sometimes it even freezes at the flubber intro. Does anyone know what i could do to fix this...could i use an official xdk recovery disc to fix this (the one i used came w/ the xdk installer that i "found"). Thanks for your help in advance.
Like an IDIOT!!!, I used the XDK recovery disc on my retail with Xenium Gold chip.
I just wanted to install the files.
REALLY screwed up the Xenium Gold.
I think it wiped the OS,Cant recover or anything.
Have ordered another XG to do a hotswap.Hope it works.
Screwed up the eeprom as well.Fixed that.Another nightmare.
Motto of my story.
DON'T use Recovery disc on Retail Xbox.
Anyway same disc works fine on my Debug Kit Box.
I would suggest to copy to F next time.
as the recovery disc formats the C and E drive.(as well as the XYZ and clears the EEprom)
Your Hdd from the xdk shouldn't be locked unless you recovered to Retail which locks the Hdd.
Easy way ive found to unlock the Hdd is to power on the box, let it boot, then pull the power cord out.
Also another 'trick' is to re-author the recovery disc
and replace the xboxrom.bin with another one of your choice.
Rename the default.xbe to recover.xbe and place evox or avalaunch as the default.xbe
This DOES work, you just need the RIGHT xboxrom.bin!!!
This also works a treat for upgrading your Hdd as you can format etc.
Hope this helps
Good luck!!!
