Home Brew Request
« on: December 18, 2006, 08:04:00 PM »

Ok I have no idea how to do this but I would like to have like a dash board that pops up as soon as I turn the box on and it comes up to a screen, and on that screen is the name and picture of a system that I can emulate.  And it would go from left to right or right to left.  And basically it would be like an xbox that is just used to play old school games, and look like it.

The reason i would like to have this done is because I plan on using my xbox for the power house of my MAME project, and I would love to have a dash that is suited just for the emulators.  But I would also like to be able to  launch XBMC also, but it would be by like hitting the back and start buttons.  If Anyone would be willing to help me out, I could make the images, for the app, I just need someone to code it.  I think that it would be easy for a coder to do, if they were good.  Let me know. I know that some other people out there would like to have something like this.  I'll post some concept pics tomorrow, I'm a bout to go to bed.  If this would be better suited somewhere else please move it for me.

I have the MAME emulator, but I would prefer something that looks nice, and like it was ment to be just for old school games, kind of like the Wii Virtual Console.   I'll get some concept images up here in a little while.

OK I finally got around to making a concept image, and I think that if this was gonna happen we need some very good coders to help us out.

As has been said, XBMC was designed to be sufficiently skinable and configurable to achieve what you’re after.  Your kind of applications were considered.

Which file would I have to edit?  Cause unlike evo-x I don't see a txt in the main menu.

It's going to be put in a MAME Cabinet, that I'm going to be building in the next month.  I'll have pics and a vid of it when I'm done.
