that helped a little. this is my current bios:

ROM = "EvoX V2.5.colormod.err.evox",0x097C581438C69DE515A346D19A9D9C41

maybe it might be a good idea if any of you has a spare debug-xbox to flash different bioses and make a detailed list of which work and which wont.. but then again it might be a specific chip thing...

you might be happy to know that i might be contributing the openXDK version of DML lib to the xbox-scene once its finished. its a fully transparent lightweight hardware abstraction layer for consoles completely done from scratch (so no external libraries/systems for audio/video/etc.), mainly focused on 2d, that works on about every console imaginable.. (anything from playstation1, saturn, to xbox and dreamcast). because it completely seperates functionality from hardware specific stuff its fairly easy to port.. also everything is written very lightweight so it will also work on 'less-manly' platforms, howeveron some platforms like the jaguar (13mhz m68k) or ps1 (33mhz mips) its ofcourse still troublesome to do some things.
it offers a lot of features however. soundmixing, bitmap loading (tga,bmp,pcx,etc.),sprites drawing/handling.bitmap handling (also rotated),etc. and fairly easy to use.
its currently being used by students on the school that where teach game-design.
i'm currently finished the dml website, so i'll be posting the URL when its live..

is there anyone else who can confirm that OpenXDK compile XBE's won't work on their bios???

if so, please tell which bios you have.

I have now some free time now to work on the issue
(actually, I plan to post a small demo demonstrating simultaneous internet connection and hardware accelerated 3D graphic pushbuffer usage in an openxdk binary, but if people around can't launch it because of their old bios, I won't be very happy... So better fix that ugly issue now)

Issue : 1 specific bios (maybe there are others) rejects binaries made with openxdk

Hypothesis : cxbe builds a binary with a structure a bit different from binaries made with official xdk.
xbetool and dx-dexbe (downloadable from 'tools' section of xbox-scene.com) both reject binaries made with openxdk (loading error, hard to say what is wrong, unless we find a way to get the sources of these tools)

First logical move :
I will try to have these tools accept openxdk binaries. I will try to patch cxbe roughly to obtain that result...

On your side, superogue, please confirm you are available for testing new binaries on your side.
(you didn't reply to my PMs, so I wonder if you gave up and flashed your bios...)

One thing you may want to try, is CXBE source from OpenXDK CVS.  There's been updates to CXBE over the years and I don' t know if they made it into whatever binary superrogue uses.

edit: wait.. binaries we know to work don't work on his system.. forget it :/
