Looking at what you said again, i originally thought you were playing videos OVER the network. Reading it again, it looks as if you transfered the videos to the xbox and are playing them off the hard drive. And that's choppy? Not good.

From what you're describing, i think you have one of two issues:

There's a 0.01% chance that your mcpx chip is screwed up on the motherboard.

Or there's a 99.99% chance that your hard drive is failing.

The hard drive failure would help to explain the error messages during the refresh and the choppy video. You can treat the hard drive just as any other. Pull it out of the xbox, pop it in a pc and run the manufacturer's diagnostics against it.

A damaged fat table is unlikely in an xbox for obvious reasons...

I got the f: drive back.  I read in a thread that deleting some stuff may cause it to reappear and it did--I deleted a game off of the e: drive.  I guess you can't fill it up all the way?  The videos and games all reappeared, but XBMC still takes a while to load and the videos are still glitched.  The videos that were transfered before the problem occured all still work and one video I transfered today works too, but the rest don't.  They take forever to load and freeze right away, stutter, then exit.  Is there a way to check the HDD while it is in the Xbox

programmingace,

Yes, the videos are on the hard disk.

muhaha.gif Try clearign out your cache files if they are there. THat may be the problem of choppy video. Also, I have had a few probems with my HD and the IDE cable. I will boot it up, and it just won't go to Evox. If I wait long enough, the error screen comes up without an error code. So whatI have to do, is unplug my IDE cabel from my HD, and plug it back in. There are otehr problems it creates, but I know for sure it is that on my Xbox. Jsut try replacing the IDE cable, and then clearing out all the cache files. Also, I think it is allready done for the XBMC .xbe file (please correct me if I am wrong here) but try to run the program that will de-limit the ram on the XBMC .xbe. THat might help it a little bit. Good luck. muhaha.gif

I deleted the cache, but foolishly forgot to back it up first and now my f: drive is gone again.  How do I get it back this time?

muhaha.gif You should just be able to use the format tool I sent you, and it should still work. Or do what ever you did before to get it working. muhaha.gif
