Things To Watch Out For?

Alright Im installing the xbox debug kit on my xbox for game developement, but was wondering.....is there anything I need to watch out for? Im going to be using a standard xbox that HAS been on xbl...... I realize I might have to switch the dash back and forth (or will I?). Also since its been on xbl, will I have to delete any auto updates or anything? IS there any other thing I have to watch out for when installing?
