Openxdk Unreliable Input In Sdl?
« on: July 04, 2005, 01:18:00 AM »

Mouse and joystick (gamepad) events should work fine.

Keyboard also shouldn't cause any startup issues.

Can you give me details on what version xbox you are trying this on.

Also what type and make of devices do you have plugged in, and which ports are they plugged into? (just tell me the port numbers from the front of the xbox).

Can you also build and run the openxdk samples (the sdl specific ones should do) and try those to see what results you get.

EDIT:

Please also make sure you are using the latest cvs version of openxdk.

Openxdk Unreliable Input In Sdl?
« Reply #1 on: July 10, 2005, 08:19:00 PM »

I'm having a similar problem.

I am porting an SDL game to OpenXDK.

I have tested the game in Windows, and the controller code works fine.

Testing on the xbox SDL_NumJoysticks() returns 4, even if no controller is plugged in.

My test setup:

Latest CVS build of OpenXDK (I had to comment out line 74 of mikmod.h in SDL_Mixer to get it to compile though)

Xbox V1.0

Evox m7 and X2 4981 and X2 4982

Pelican Wireless Controller, MS Controller S, MS Controller (Duke)

I get the 4 controllers error everytime.

Any suggestions?
