Openxdk Sdl Fails With Composite A/v Jack!
« on: July 03, 2005, 12:20:00 AM »

I'm sorry! I was mistaken!

I had a few more minutes, and I've isolated the problem. The a/v jack doesn't change anything. I'm actually really glad that's the problem, because I might be able to help fix this one on my own.

I have a Hip Gear LM445 controller. That's the culprit. If I use a standard x-box controller-S, it's happy. If I plug in the Hip Gear, it dies a horrible horrible death.

I was shocked to find out that you guys have SDL keyboard support working. I got to actually *PLAY* Star Phalanx on the x-box!!

You have no idea how easily this has made my day.

It's almost certainly not the composite av itself that is the problem.

When writing the OpenXDK video code I used an xbox connnected with composite for the vast majority of testing.

Can you give me some more details about your setup ?

Are you using the latest version of OpenXDK?
What version xbox's are you using?
NTSC or PAL?
Where are you attempting to run the xbe from (c, e, f etc)?

Can you build and run the comingsoon OpenXDK sample?

You mentioned having 2 xbox's - does the same thing happen with both of them?

Also - unless my eyes are not as good as they used to be - I didn't see any actual source code in your rar file.
