hi guys

im not sure if i can ask this here but anyway....

im new to this writing software for the xbox but i really want to give it ago, i have installed the xdk on my pc but when i try and acess www.xds.xbox.com it asks me for a password and username! what can i use? im assumming that is the best place to read up on writing software.

You need a user name and password suplied from MS to access www.xds.xbox.com

Unless you work in the indistry and need access you would not get it.

ok thasnks for the quick reply, guess i will have to look elsewhere....

any recommendations? im not into writing games i have acouple of ideas for apps for the xbox have havnt yet been done, all the sites i look at seem to be focusing on games.

It's normal most xbox applications are games. It's a game console.
The xdk comes with examples for most of the xbox specific stuff.
A lot of the existing homebrew applications have free sources available.
The xdk help is pretty good as well.
My point is that it's possible to develop xdk applications without access to the MS protected website.

You don't need access to that site. Everything you need is included in the XDK including documentation, examples, headers, and libs. All of those things provide API references you can use.
