X/sdk Newbie Question

How do I install it on my Xbox? I mainly want to use it for just the Xbox Image Grabber. I read the Readme and it says about running an app but it said it erases the content of the HDD... and I don't want that to happen.

I already had that. I need to know how to install the XDK so that it runs the necessary programs, such as xbdm.dll, so that I can take screenshots.
