I seriously doubt that a patcher will ever happen. Developers might setup their apps for this, but not all people with modded xboxs have PCs. I know that I have 6 or 7 friends with no computer, and no computer knowledge that use their xbox daily (most XBMC and emulation.)
Secondly most applications already have some sort of SMB support already (dvd2xbox, a lot of emulators, xbmc.) So which apps were you thinking of specifically.
If you're thinking of trying to stream games, it''ll never happen. Xbox games take way too much space and they would be slow as molasses if you tried to play over a network.
Sorry pal, just unlikely to happen.
