New Xdk Release
« Reply #30 on: March 22, 2005, 12:17:00 AM »

5933 does exist and it is an official version of the XDK.

My screen capture is not Photoshopped, it is legitimate.

I don't have to prove anything to anyone, I have version 5933 running on my XDK unit. If you choose not to believe me then that is up to you, it's no big deal to me! :P

@iamcheese
That is kind of what I was thinking. I will let you know what the actual version is when I get it installed but even that can be modified.

@idc
Good for you. I'd like to see a scene release of it soon.

if it is real then howcome nobody else has ever heard of it??? and if you really had it then you should have no problem proving it?

but seriously shouldant it say somthing about it on the dev site? and you have to remember that in 5849 it said there will be nomore major xdk releases only point releases

also the naming of your picture is weird... when i take screenshots of my xdk it gives me the naming format as follows Adam-image4 or similiar however yours is labled with your xboxes ip address when your xboxes name is xdk but the picture

Nobody else has heard of it because nobody had been informed about it until now.

I have done all I want to do to prove I have it. I already stated that I do not have to prove anything to anyone. No disrespect to you or anyone else, but if you choose not to believe what I say then no worries. I know it is real and that is my only concern.

Suffice to say that this release has only been given to a select few and that I cannot distribute it to anyone - so please do not ask.

With regard to the picture's naming - that is just the way our network is configured. Windows does not see the Xbox's name, no matter what I set it to, so it falls back to its IP address. This suits me fine, as I know the IP addresses of all the devices on our network anyway, so I work with those rather than device names! :)

Hi all,

5933 is real, but seems to be for internal m$ use, but this version exists, and was released few months ago.

ok im starting to bite... maby but if it is real and was released a couple of months ago that would not make it the latest release, because 5849.15 was released last month and even though the build number is lower it would still be the latest official release :)

MS has had point releases of the XDK since 5849.... for their own game studios.  Just because there hasnt been a "scene release" doesnt mean MS hasnt released anymore.

^^ obviously someone had heard of other releases, iamcheese.

so is it worthwhile to upgrade from 5849 if you're not planning on using Live?

After discussing this with someone, the WAM release seems to be .15 as the exe included is .15

5849.15 is the latest general release to external developers
5933.1 is the newest version.

I mentioned further up in the thread that latest release != latest version! :)

I personally will not disclose any information about the new features and updates in 5933, but maybe someone else will.

well, if it's the latest version, but not the latest release, does that mean there might be some bugs in it or whatever that are holding it back from being a release?

idc, you must work for MS or something right?  I can easily believe this is a new xdk version..

Ecroflirt, it might not be released because Xbox 2 is coming out soon and this is just for testing or some other purposes.  so it wont get leaked.
