Setup Cd Under Development
« on: August 28, 2004, 11:01:00 AM »

I only just recently just tried to install a 160Gb and just kept running into hurdels like how my bios didn't support a large HD, rearranging files, fixing my evox.ini to be more user freindly and finding a app that will register my f:\ and install to it. Not having a heap of junk installed from an out dated installer or setup cd would be nice...

I went through hell tryin to get 2 xbox's 160Gb HDD workin, alot of research and hard work. Even after i got it right it still took me ages to perfect everything to how i had it.

So, Now i figured it would be easier for me to make a setup CD that even a novice would find easy to use, instead of having to go through the whole process again because i personally gotta do this more than once. It will step by step complete all task's required to either build a original HD or retail HD. And install approriate apps such as xbox media centre,DVDx, and xtoolbox which will be pre-setup for xbox 2 xbox. The newer version of MS dashboard with xbox live will be installed. Evolution X with user friendly menu and pre-setup including IP...

My intension is anyone can just change over the HDD and then put the CD in and turn it on... Then just follow step my step instructions, within 30min you can install games, watch a dvd without remote or upload a game to your friend without having to change a thing.

Im not educated in anyway about computing, im 100% self taut and i may not know all the definitions of whateva... but after goin through what i had to i now beleive i have enough knowledge to make it...

..... Im interested in some feed back whether people would find something as such and what other features it should include.

An extra feature would be pctools relating to xbox such as flashfxp, xbox save manager, mirc, winrar and brief notepad instruction on how to setup and operate. Everything for someone that had nothing. Of course as soon as you find out about a new feature you'd like to use it straight away and not have to search n download a decent program. Well any novice can access all features and programs straight from the CD...

Sorry.. if im not making to much sence i would read over what i wrote but im tierd...

Please post reply...

Yeah im aware of that... i feel as if slayers and x-disk are confusing to beginners... And after they have done their job the evox.ini is unorganised, some apps dont work... whatever, for a beginner it can be fustrating... I personally get sick of trying to explaining things to people... I provide mod-chip installation and/or HDD upgrade service in autralia... I've based mine on x-disk, just i thaught there was a couple of things i could touch up and change...

XBOX mod are not all that popular in Australia.... So there's hardly anyone that can change a Large HDD or onstall a mod-chip...

atomiX just completed an updated autoinstaller that is pretty easy to use and complete.  Its easier to use, and more complete than Slayers, and don't even get me started on XDisk (thats a badly thought out implementation to say the least..)
