I become my debug X-Box today od tomorrow.

I got the Hacked Bios.

When i put the two Files to the Box then i can Play retail Games.
Right?

Can i then Play my Backup games too?

And can i use the Slayer EvoX Installer CD to install Evo-X?

Or did i have to do another thing to install EvoX Dashboard?

THX for your support smile.gif

but when you install slayers, do NOT format your E drive.  It may cause the box not to boot correctly.  Also, do not select "flash bios" EVER!!!  If you do, you will have a dead xbox.

Good point gavroche...

...I was gonna add that the preferred method of installing EvoX would be to FTP just the Dash and .ini files in place (And skin folder if need be)

Yeah, larger HDD is not a problem...

...Here's a couple of options for you to consider

-Either clone your existing drive to your larger HDD

Or

-The easiest method is to run the 'Debug/Dev Kit Recovery Disc' with the new blank drive installed. (Only use this disc on genuine kits though)

Also worth noting that as far as I know, the debug kits wont take drives bigger than 137GB at this moment in time.  This is due to the fact that a LBA48 patch hasnt been made for the genuine debug bios yet.  A BFM bios wont fix this problem as the bios on the flash rom chip is what handles the low level stuff.

I could be wrong, this is how I see it.

OK.
In the Xbox SDK there was a CDI File   named  Recovery CD

When i burn this with Disc Juggler and put this in my BOX did i first have to LOCK the new HDD? I think i take a 80GB Hdd. thats enough for me smile.gif

Or did the Recovery CD automaticly LOCK the new HDD?

Thx for your Help smile.gif

A genuine Debug Kit doesn't need to lock the HDD.

But now i have the next Problem.
The Dbug Box Hdd is Only 8GB so i want to put my 40GB hdd in it to test the Slayer EvoX installer and other things.

So when i Crash the HDD i can Put back the old 8GB and it works.

But how can i put my old 40GB hdd in the BOX and RUN?

I burned the Recovery CD that comes with the SDK.
Then i put in my 40GB HDD (ahh. Its not Formatted or so. There is Data on it. And its formated with NTFS)

Then i start the BOX and put in the Recovery CD.
But i didn`t work for me.

It doesnt load anything.

So my Question is (and i hope you help me smile.gif  )

What did i have to do so that my 40GB HDD works in the DEBUG BOX?

Can anybody told me please?

is it better when i clone the HDD to the 40GB HDD?
But how this works? I dont know how to clone the HDD.

Or is it easyer with the Recovery CD? But how did THIS work???

Ohh man! Iàm very confused........

PLease help me.....

Thx alot

You say 'Recovery CD'

...Does this mean u actually burnt the file to a CD-R???

...If so this is the problem, the Xbox doesn't like CD-R's.

...U need to burn it to DVD-R

...Or at a pinch use a CD-RW, if u can find a brand that your Debug Kit/Thomson DVD drive will read.

Hmmmm, as far as I know the Xbox needs a DVD drive in the system to allow it to boot up.

...A 'missing' or 'exchanged for a HDD' scenario would throw up a dash error!

As for Live! I don't run this service, but my kits have the Live! dash, so 'yes' it works, but if you don't have a Live! tab u need to upgrade accordingly, after finding out more info on the implications before upgrading.
