Xdk Alpha Recovery...
« on: July 15, 2004, 11:17:00 AM »

I got a little information from HSDEMONZ this morning.  He believes there is supposed to be a special card in it that allows emulation of the XBOX HD.  Thats a bit more info than I started out with, so anyone else have any hardware or software info?

Does it have a PCI card in it, with an IDE connector interface?

...Or is the IDE cable plugged straight into the Motherboard?

Plugged into the motherboard, so I assume that answers my question.

Lets suppose I managet ot get the card (theoretically) where do I go from there?

Are you sure that you actually need a card?

No, I'm not really sure of anything at this point.  No one has any concrete info on this thing.  It seems to be a rareity.  I DO know that it is capable of functioning as an XDK, I've seen pics of them running development games.  I'm just not even sure where to start.

Hi,

I recently acquired an XDK pc:

http://www.tomshardw.../images/xdk.jpg

It came without the hard drive of course, so I decided to put one of my xbox hard drives in it.   So I unlock it and format it on my other computer.  I stick it in the XDK and boot it up.... the xdk logo appears on the screen and the bios info comes up quickly...but it doesn't appear to search for drives.   It just sits there and after a while it asks for a boot disk from A (floppy).  I have no clue how to get anything running from the hard drive.  I  believe it's the bios, but is there anyway to change it if I can boot from a hard drive?  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Bios Info:

Nvidia NV20 VGA Bios
Version 3.20.00.00.00

Mobo:

Intel VC820

Thx.

I'm a friend of Flexmaster... how did you get the hard drives working if the bios doesn't scan for drives on boot up?
