QUOTE (DuggyUK @ Feb 25 2004, 07:24 PM)
I remember reading on these very forums about a hacked cromwell bios that would simlpy reflah your eprom (there wer steps to do it).  Also I think you might be able to use the XBTool (with eprom embeding option) to have a perfectly normal xbox too..  Maybe even reflash eprom (on board) once booted?...

In any case...good luck.

no offense but why bring this up from last year when there is a thread above?

NO, your Xbox is dead. Now you're minus $180, you fucked up royally.  The Recovery Discs are for DEBUG/DEVELOMENT Kits only!

well, yeah, if your bios was flashable, it did that, and it fucked up your eeprom. i know back in the day i messed up my eeprom and used complex 1.02 or 1.03.. whichever one is the debug one. debug bios can still boot if the eeprom is messed up. so, you should be able to boot a disc if you can use debug type bios.. hopefully you have your eeprom backed up, then it'll be real easy to just load back up.

Yeah i did something similar i actually replaced it with an eeprom from a fried xbox and going to use its hard drive but i ordered a chameleon but they suck cuase ive sent it back twice and they still dont even blink the blue light when they are installed nor boot my working xbox so i am going to get an xecuter 2 lite and use it but yeah i was thinking if i just used like an evox bios load it to the mod boot the system and then flash the tsop back to the 4034 bios. I'm thinking that would work but hell if i know

You need to flash your BIOS with the Debug BIOS.

Unless it's a 1.0 Xbox, you'll have to use the TATX dual booting BIOS.

Damn i have a 1.0 this is going to be a bitch

You can use TATX, or use the Complex 1.03 Debug BIOS.

You really need to do some research before touching your Xbox.

Start here:

QUOTE

Please, for your sake as well as ours, first read Things You Must Know About The Xbox:, read EVERYTHING there. Then go to the main Xbox-Scene page and hit the tutorials links and other informative links found there. After that, in the forums, scan through the various pinned threads in the many technical forums here, particularly those that are relavent to your interests.

Hang out in the Newbie Chat and FAQ forums, browsing and scanning various threads there.... then if you still have questions, search before posting. Try a few variations... don't make a half-assed attempt, either. Check over the search options to make sure it's set up correctly.

If you've HONESTLY exhausted all of those steps, and are still bewildered by something, ask away. We'll recognize the question as a legitimate, or rarely asked question, instead of a FAQ or blatantly newb question.

This is not meant as criticism - only as good, sound, advice. 99% of the members here have followed it and many of them are here helping others, now...

Research DEBUG BIOS here in Development for some details on it, as well. A Debug BIOS can get you out of EEPROM problems, too.

All that disc has (apart from the stuff on the remote recovery) is some neglected versions of retail and debug BIOSs anyway.

btw, it warns you farely clearly when its about to flash your BIOS. doesn't that make you scared?
