Problem With Debugging From .net 2003
« on: October 10, 2003, 04:14:00 PM »

I'm trying to debug from .NET 2003, and I'm getting an "Unable to start debugging.  The server threw an exception" error.  Nothing's showing up in the output window at the bottom.  The app still compiles and transfers to the Xbox, however.  I'm running XDK 5558, and the TATX BFM bios.  Anyone know what's up with this?

Maybe it doesn't like the BFM "mode"?

Thanks for the quick response smile.gif.  Guess I won't be debugging until I get the Xbit (only have X2Lite right now)

Why not program the X2 Lite with a Debug BIOS on one bank, and your "regular" BIOS on the other?

My buddy has an X2 Lite with an external switch on the bank selector. Works great.

Yeah, I was just thinking about running out and getting a switch.  It'd tide me over rather well, I imagine.

Hi,

I had this exact same problem when I first installed .net 2k3.

Problem is I can't remember exactly what caused it and what I did to fix it! (knew I should write these things down!!)

I do know that in my case it wasn't anything to do with a BFM bios - cos I don't use one.

Thinking about it - I think it was something to do with how I'd got the xbox name or ip address setup in Xbox Neighbourhood.

Not 100% sure on that though - so don't quote me! But it might be somewhere to start.

If I remember anything else I'll come back and post it.

Try using the original 5558 Debug bios under PBL, you need a RC4 key though. smile.gif
