after resigned the xboxdash.xbe, seems no change made to those files. e.g., I added 'doax' to menu, but can't find any string 'doax' in all of the files except for the original .wxm file.

is it ok?

falconsfan -> you are using forward slashes ie. '/'. where you should be using double backslashes ie. '\\'

eg.

"Device\\Harddisk0\\Partition6\\GAMES\\NCAA2004"

@dfunked :

Don´t forget to use 2 "//" behind the name of your directory !!!

Your path should look like this : ""Device//Harddisk0//Partition6//GAMES//NCAA2004//"

This will work !

By the way, make sure that all files exists ! I had a dashboard error 21 because I had "default.xbe" for evox, but the file on the hdd was "evoxdash.xbe".

(shit, I can´t use two backslash //  here !! why that ?)

is there a way to add images to the games? Like the images when you look at your savegame halo on the memory section of the dashboard.
Thanks

X-S forums software converts double backslashes "\\" to singlke backslashes: "\"

So to make double backslashes, you need to use quadruple backslashes: "\\\\" becomes "\\"

Just "double up" but don't forget, it will strip the doubling when you edit, so you need to re-double them if you do an edit.

unsc1, yes I do.

I have the unmodified xboxdash.xbe which loads with phoenix. It currently has the font exploit right now. I will try later and take out the font exploit to make sure it runs normally. Then I will flip on modchip and see if it runs modified dash. I think it should because the font exploit is working!

unsc1, the secret is to have a different directory for your modified dash files. See my explanation earlier or if you can follow SpencerBr's tutorial.

SpencerBr, good to see someone else got it working!

It is actually quite simple but I guess it helps if one is familiar with all this stuff first. For a newbie to try this right from scratch is sort of intimidating.

I don't have that xboxdashdata.10027100 folder on my XBox, everything is right there on C: - I'm running a 1.0 Xbox with a non-Live dashboard. I get "unknown dashboard version" errors everytime I try to make the menu, and my default.xbe is in a folder I made called 'xboxdashdata.10027100'.

no, look for the folder in your c drive that has these files

default.xip
dvd.xip
jkeyboard.xip
etc..
and replace the xboxdashdata10027100 folder with the folder you just found

It's all right there on the C drive, not in any folders. I've tried copying the whole drive over, and still I get an unknown dashboard error.
