(I posted this in a different thread be no one had replyed

I was just looking at wakeboarding unleashed and its practically the same way ps2 compacts their music(I think). They bundle all the files into one big .dat file (XboxSound.dat 248mb) I was curious if there is a good programmer out there that would be willing to make an extractor/rebuilder for some of these game. That would be great if someone would do that. Thanks in advance

How about a port of LIRC (Linux Infrared Client - www.lirc.org) for the xbox?  This would be very handy!  Im sure the xbox ir dongle is probably supported by the usb-irda module lirc supports.  And probably not that difficult to port.  You could use ANY IR remote to control your xbox and preprogram buttons in the .lircrc and set say button 1 to launch Star Wars - KOTR or something.  I think that would be pretty cool.  You could also program it to turn your xbox off, and program it to function in XBMP, Games, Menu etc.  My xbox remote died 9 mos ago (Don't want to spend another $30, dongle works) so this would enable people to use any remote with the xbox that lirc supports (and it supports a buttload of remotes).

- i'd like this because it'd give some info on my xbox, and also accredit xport, lantus & the others that made my xbox as good as it is; im always letting my friends borrow my box, and it'd be great to have a little tribute page so they realize to whom credit is due & also a mini help page so that they'd stop calling me!

thanx.

So far I think the best ideas are to either help out a developer who needs help or remake xPad unless you can get the cource and continue it.
Add support for all filetypes, so if you get an obscure name like "davidandgoliath.k9p" and you knew it was pure text, you could still open it.
Also, support for word wrap and maybe a smaller font would be good, I'm thinking from the point of view of wanting to read faqs downloaded from GameFAQs on the Xbox without having to scroll around'n'STufF.

BYEEEEE!!

illicit-,

I'd love to see a text editor like xpad. I've been looking for it all over and can't find it.

I'm just looking for something I can edit my evox.ini file without FTP'ing into my box.

Do you know of any other homebrew out there that'll do this?

Thanks in advance!

hey guys, ive been working on "The Game of Life" for xbox with a friend and have been on vaction for like past 10 days, I see alot of you had requests and it seems like Some sort of Notepad program is the most popular.

Seeing all of the progress in the "Halo Scene", I also think a Win32 gui for editing halo with the new HEX values would be great too.

Everyone that wants the notepad, please respond with specific features and useablity you would like to see

Thanks

Yeah illicit, an easy win32 gui program utilizing the halo hacks would be most helpful right now.  but then you'd have to be responsible for constantly updating it as people keep figuring out new things (sorta like Xtech with the easy xboxdash editor)

For the Text editor, could you plz add one page thats xbox themed (or skinnable; eg. to match theme with blackbolt's skins) that can be directly launched from evox and other dashboards? a info page with a possible small pic in there to serve the function i stated in my above post
