It should be able to extract, but it doesn't handle zip files (yet) that has full folder names (drives and folders).

I got an unrarring app working yesterday but it was pretty slow and only supported single volume archives. Plus it can only extract, as WinRAR has a "proprietary algorithm" and all that crap.

I'm sure that Avalaunch could put RAR extraction in and they already have ZIP extraction already so I'm sure archiving of some kind could be put in even if it was using a different format so you'd have to extract the RARs and then archive on the box. I'm sure zlib could be ported over if it won't work straight off (I'd think the Windows source wouldn't require too many alterations) and that could be used.

Well, Avalaunch team, you seem like the guys willing to actually put new functions into your dash and make some innovations so I'll leave it up to you to decide whether you want it.

We have unzipping and zipping in Avalaunch. We also had unrar for a short period of time, but that was for WinRar 2.x so we didn't bother to put it in.

I assure you that we'll put in unrar for the newest rar format in the near future, but as you say, rarlabs has their own protected algorithm so don't expect to see support for the creation of rar archives in Avalaunch (i guess) smile.gif
