the reason i'd want this button combo pass thing is cuz i dont like people around to be able to see the characters i press
i like how mortal kombat deadly alliance did it
but i might be one of the few that want this

i cannot get the newest xpass to even launch for some reason

Hi,
What modchip are you using?
If it's an Xtender, Xecuter 1, or Enigmah modchip, or any early modchips similar to those, then you need to patch the media flag in the xbe. You can do this with XBEMIDP2.
I was only just reminded about this, but future versions i'll patch it before releasing it.
If you have a new modchip, but don't have the version of the X2 bios that automatically patches it, then you can upgrade your bios to the latest X2 - 4977, or patch the xbe, as said above.

Try requesting this in the X-Select Thread and BJ will probably add it!

What is it doing, any errors? flashing led?
Are you sure you copied the media folder as well?

first, i used the old xpass on my media player right so i had it in media player folder
then i upgraded to newest xpass and decided to use media player folder again but now the xpass xbe wont boot
i launch it from evox and it goes to evox loading screen and it just freezes there, no flashing of leds or anything

i dunno if this could be kinda like the quake port where older versions had files on drive E that screwed up newer versions cuz i did keep the same file location

and i dont wanna lock out the xbox completely, i wanna have it launch a 3rd party dashboard, i just wanna lock out certain apps only

no i got all files set right

dashpath is set to F:|apps|xboxmediaplayer|xbmp.xbe

i also tried keepin in same directory as xbmp
with:
D:||xbmp.xbe
D:|xbmp.xbe
and so on

replace | with slash of course

and i set pass to what i had old xpass set to
still no workie lol

what i meant by the dash crap was that it sent me back to my dash (which is evoxdash.xbe at the moment) after typing the correct password and it wasn't supposed to link there

I'm working on it now, and at the moment i can't see any clear reason why it would do that, but can you try doing it with an xbe on the c or e drive?

X-Select has no problems launching an app from F: as a dash....  wink.gif
