Disassembling The Kernel

It might be easier to leave the original code in but instead append your own code onto the end of the bios then just patch the entry point to the flubber to point to your own entry point.

The downside would of course be that the bios image would be larger.

But down to the real subject..

Why waste valuable space on ftp code? Thats something any dashboard can have. There are a million more important things that could be included.

And no, no one has done a complete recompile. No one has done this because they do not work at MS, nor do they have access to the complete toolkit they used to compile their kernel. It would have to all be done with manual scripts ..which could take a very long time to write, let alone figure out.

Actually, all they did was change the vertex positions. They didn't recreate it, they modified.
Still, it's pretty damn cool !
