QUOTE (SpencerBr @ Aug 20 2003, 05:00 PM)
Hi.

I Finally run xdk launcher with Dgege instructions.
I Use Phoenix + 5558 and RC4key

Thats ok, every time when i run phoenix, a little time after xdk launcher is up.
I have some questions about xdk.

1) If possible run dvdgames?
2) If possible run any homebrew apps? (evox, xbmp, emus, etc)
3) i got xbe error msg, every time when i run xboxdash or dvd game, why?
4) how can i run the xdk examples?

thanks for yours attention.
and sorry for bad english.

I'm trying this tutorial right now, I'm actually at the BIOS part. Is it possible instead of those 3 biosses from the tutorial (including the tatx vga bios, I think I read somewhere that bios was only if you connect your xbox to a pc monitor) I can just use the tatx debug dual bios (1mb) ??

Wrong. Softmod + bios loader + bfm debug bios works fine.

So how does one run retail games with games that have no debug libraries? Or has this been fixed in the recent XDK updates? I have version 5933 on my computer and am going to put the other files on my box later tonight.

Also, I have heard that you can take video capture too. Is this just a misunderstanding or can you really do it? My capture card just can't keep up with the movement of the FPS games.

ok if u want to take video capture ull need 128 mb of ram in ur xbox because games like halo2 dont run with most of the xbdm.dll files but u can see a list that works here
but games like morrowind do take videos nicely with the latest debug

QUOTE (hydrasworld @ Jul 9 2003, 10:05 AM)
Note: I wanted to use EvoX to launch XShell, but it appears that when "xbdm.dll" is present on the xbox's E drive and the "Edashboard.xbx" is pointing to "Cevoxdash.xbe" the XBox won't reboot correctly.  If anyone knows of a fix for this let me know.

Newer versions of evox have problems with the debug bios (or so i read).  I stepped back a few revisions, and the strangness (it was doing some crazy shit) disappeared  for me  biggrin.gif  (tatx bios with evox 2812).  Avalaunch works as well.

If you're using it as a dev box only, then it shouldn't matter. If need be, just stick in another NIC card in your PC and use crossover cable to the Xbox and set the card up so that it can't access the internet/XBL.
