Just a note to say that I am currently working on a boot menu for the X2 BIOS. I have managed to get a simple menu to appear on bootup (Post XBOX Logo, but Pre MS / XECUTER Logo) that provides options for booting from various drives. It currently only supports button assignments. Button A searches for evoxdash.xbe, nexgendash.xbe or xboxdash.xbe on the C drive. Button B searches E and Button X searches F. It will then proceed to boot as per the normal X2 BIOS.

Its based on a simple jump to an extended portion of the BIOS which obtains the drive value, then returns to a pretty much normal boot up.

This only works on 1.0 XBOXes as I only have a 1.0 to work with. I am pleased to say that the kernel is rather less complex than I expected and should be rather useful in booting from a LPC DiskOnChip device providing I can get around the current IRQ issues and partition support. The release will be out in the next few days in the usual places once I have tested it in a few more config and get some screen corruption problems solved (xbox logo messes up).

Thanks to Team XECUTER for a great BIOS to start with, and even more thanks to every member of the XBOX community for wanting things like this to happen.

Any decent ASM GFX coders, drop me a line and see if we can make things look prettier.

I am also looking for people that know the ins and outs of the Cromwell BIOS. I am starting a cromwell / nforce hybrid BIOS that *should* make the XBOX run just like a standard nForce PC. I have had some success, however quite limited in this area as I do not understand the required authorisation codes for the XBOX to continue booting, it instead just crashes (most of the time), or times out and does a nice FRAG.
