Whats The Xbe Difference?
« on: February 11, 2003, 10:26:00 AM »

I thought I remembered that the Dev Kit Xboxes don't read originals.

I think it also requires the XBEs to be built with the XDK (i.e. not patched for 'retail' use)

You may want to mod it and use Complex Debug BIOS 1.03, which will at least allow backups to run, but not reading originals is a limitation of the DVD drive used.

You may be able to directly flash it using Evo-X, but you'd have to boot Evo-X to do that.... catch-22?

The BIOS is "out there" - search the bin newsgroups on usenet. Follow my advice to HackJack in his thread.

QUOTE (old engineer @ Feb 12 2003, 02:45 PM)
O.K, understood.

I wonder if connecting up the Raptor DVD Emulator card and the bundled 40gb HDD would enable me to load up EvoX and then do the flash?

Any obvious reasons why not?

I don't know.... like I've said, I just have a retail box modded with a debug BIOS.

Sorry.
