Porting Games To Xbox
« on: January 26, 2003, 08:28:00 AM »

OK...

A couple of weeks ago i was reading all about porting an PSX emu ( and i thought this was a good idea) and why no one had yet done it, seeing that thexbox had so much more power. One person replied saying: get off your lazy a$$ and you do it, its not as easy as it looks.

I decided i would look into this, i had never made anything myself using MS visual studiosso i decided i was going to try something i thought relatively simple, make a notepad for the Xbox. I knew something like this had been attempted (Xpad) but then the developers stopped because they couldn't be bothered. Although this works well, and i have used it to edit evox.ini on my xbox it didn't support using a keyboard. So that was what i set out to do. I went out and bought MS visual studio and 'borowed' an XDK off a m8, although i managed to get it to run on my pc fine (which i was pretty pleased because i hadn't made anything myself before) however when attempting to port this over to xbox i have no idea how to, can any one point me in the direction of how to do this?

Any help would be appreciated (btw this is called XNoTePaD)

I am planning on learning this stuff pretty soon. I've already got my PC set up. I've just got to find enough time to work on it.

A site I've found that looks helpful (I believe that BenJeremy posted the link) is http://www.xfactordev.net/

They say they'll be adding a ton more tutorials in the days/weeks to come.
