Switching Hds While Xbox Turned On Possible Later?
« on: January 18, 2003, 05:47:00 AM »

Would be a great idea to be able to swap or use two IDE HDDS simultaneously instead of the DVD drive. Or swap to another HDD while the XBox is turned on.

Using 2 Hard drives would work, as the Xbox mainboard is just a glorified PC motherboard.

You would not be able to hot swap them, because the bios would need to redetect it.  This is only possible at boot, due to the motherboard not supporting Hot Swap.

Bad idea. Parallel ATA is subject to getting "zapped" when the cables are fiddled with during power on.
