There Should Be Some Programming Standards!
« on: January 13, 2003, 12:57:00 PM »

I would like to see some standard settings and interfaces in all these emulators.

1)All emulators should have a video calibration mode and the game and should only reside within the frame space you set.

2)All emulators should have a feature to change the skin and font like evox but without the need to change the menu selection.

3)All emulators should have an easy interface to work with outlining in the main menu the save manager, the controller settings, emulator settings and a browsing menu.

4)All emualtors should allow you to use the analog if you choose to.

5)All emulators should have either game restart button combos or a way to get back to the original emulator interface.

6)Many of the settings as well as features of other emulators should be shared or incorporated into production of new releases.

7)All emulators should be set to the standard bios reset, if not the emulator's should not have a restart to bios instead a menu feature like the media player and other programs to exit back to the dashboard.

8)A lot more buttons especially emulator specific buttons such as when you press y in FCE ultra and it goes to the fceultra buttons info should be removed due to game freezing and overall screwing up of the game. Another example would be in final burn alpha when you press Right Trigger + A Button it activates screen adjust mode and that may screw up often as well as mess with your gaming and emualtor experience.

I respect and thank all the makers of the emulators but I think that you guys need to follow in one another's footsteps and make your emulators as simple and as easily configureable as possible, with as many menu features as there should be and with common features that appear to be very neccesary. Thank you.
