Everyone Run The Neo Program

so what are the chances of the rc4 key being brute forced? i mean, how many digits long is it and how many possible combinations of numbers need to be tested? any idea how long it'll take to crack judging from the statistics? i currently have 7 computers running to help out and just wanna know if it's really worth trying..

it's a rsa key , not rc4. (bios & eeprom are rc4).

chance that we find it this way are near really near 0%
To check all possinilities it would probably take million or billion of years even with alot of cpu's.
But while other people are trying to hack it another way (stack overflow , ...) it doesn't hurt to try this. Chances are extemely small , but existent.

uhmm...millions of YEARS, or CPU YEARS?  that makes a big difference because i'm sure we'll be able to manage about 100 cpu years a day if we try.

What we need is an Xbox version of the client.

Wouldn't that be sweet? An Xbox running a modchip stumbling across the key??

i think having the xbox connect to the servers to fetch new packets to process might be a problem though..

I think I read that they have a Linux client which of course, anyone with a mod chip could run.

how do you figure?  i was thinking of this, and so were many others on irc.  it would speed up the process.  not everyone may be able to spare a pc, but everyone can spare an xbox!

oh and i think that neo should have a seperate status board for the higher end cpus.  that way we could still do the more complex problems and have a chance at winning.

yeah.  otherwise the 5 top people thing is shit.  of course, we have a better chance of unlocking the key to winning the final prize, but we shouldn't be excluded from the 5 xbox's if we have good pc's that are dedicated.

*shrug* i already have an xbox. the key is what's important imo.. anyway.. i'm running it on 2 machines, one is a 500 celly and the other a athlonxp 1800+, and the athlon is finishing more than the celly.. so i don't see a prob..

I just installed it and got it running...how can i tell if its working?? i put a screenshot...wut does all that shit mean? It just stays like that...the progress bar isnt working? Wut is MOPS and all that...also...wut are CPU years?

click on settings-->preferences.   on the first sliding bar you see, move it over to 70 percent for comfort level, 90 for dual purpose [support neo and work on pc] and 100 is pretty much all dedicated to neo, except for very basic work like msword, internet explore, icq, and such.  no video editing, macromedia flash, games, or shit.

also, set "neo client priority level" to normal.

also fill in your personal informatio.  Settings-->user information.

if it still didn't work, let us know.
