try running window xp with only 64 mb ram, i don't think it will run too sweet.  i think it has been discussed before, but it was a while back.  try doing a search for windows.   beerchug.gif

Weird. I havent tried this myself, but the XBox Linux team say that Windows runs fast enough to play an Mpeg4 movie at full screen! And that in itself takes a fair amount of processing power.

Still, don't really see the point of doing this myself. But each to their own wink.gif

That's the same idea like why run linux on it.
However the xbox is a very cheap, integrated, and portable computer.
It would make a good windows terminal system (RDP client) or maybe they just want to run winamp on it for the visual plugins.
Many valid reasons to do it hehe smile.gif

according to MS you only need 64mb of ram (minimum) to run xp and according to the xbox linux project windows on xbox can playback full screen mpeg-4 movies.

so you should be able to run it, especially if you get your ram upgraded to 128mb. doubt you'll get much luck with pc games though, you do need to run it on a virtual pc inside linux after all.

why do you say that?

according to the xbox linux project it's entirely impossible - and winows 2000 has already been put on. since they are run from inside a virtual pc why should this be a problem?

When I first ran Mandrake 9 on my xbox i looked to see how much ram was used up and all that and i noticed that there was only 2mb of ram left.  Imagine running windows xp on top of linux with only 2mb of ram to spare.  It would work great if the xbox had 512mb of DDR  laugh.gif

for fucks sake.  because of the way the  xbox was made, it can only physically handle 137gb.

secondly, THIS GUY IS A FUCKNUT!  read his other post, on how he claims to do all this crazy shit like install 512mb ram.

what a fucking idiot.  this guy should be banned from the forums.
