You are not looking hard enough then, because they do exist.  And if you can't find what you want, then write what you want.  Personally, I prefer that the focus is on emulators... some of the best old games are reborn then.

Hi all,
With all the nice emulators that are out, I have yet to see anything original for the XBox from the homebrew community. Is anyone working on an original game?

Mike

I have an original homebrew... X-Marbles.

I believe there is something about it over at XFactorDev.net, as well as some other homebrew stuff. The page is a bit dated, though.

I've got some original homebrew games that I made for the PC and am thinking about porting them to the xbox, but so far have avoided it due to legal issues with MS.
I've got a new 3D game I'm working on right now, and I'm making it with strong segregations from the code and the engine to allow it to port to the XDK or OpenXDK easier.
Unfortunately as of right now I'm still a chicken shit.

Chicken shit to port something legally? That makes sense.... FYI if you build it with openxdk, it's 100% legal.

No...I'm chicken shit to port something illegally, which does make sense.

FYI, if OpenXDK was ready for primetime as a full replacement to the Xbox XDK, all programs would be built using it.

Now...if simple file system explorer programs don't even use it (simple in that most of it can be replicated using C system calls and a GUI API), then why would you think a video game would be able to (which uses API's built around the latest research in computer graphics and optimized for video card hardware)?  Even the bios isn't made using it, and the bios doesn't even have a gui.

When the time comes that the OpenXDK is ready to act as a full replacement to the XDK, rest assured I will be the first one signed up.

EDIT:  That sounded snotty...didn't mean it to be smile.gif
