Can You Run Media Player Or Yamp Off Cd?
« on: November 30, 2002, 02:07:00 PM »

sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but none of the other areas seem to fit the question. I saw what I believe to be yamp being able to play off cd, but Im not sure. There doesnt seem to be that good of tutorials for these programs (even on the programmers' sites). Will either of these play off cdrw, and if so are there any GOOD tutorials for doing so?

can't say for yamp, but I know that media player runs fine from cd-rw or dvd. If you go to the xbox media player homepage here you should find what you need.

Here is a config file to get you started that I have used to run from disk...

<configuration>

           <media>

              <map>E:,Harddisk0\Partition1</map>

              <local>D:\Media\Video</local>
              <remote>192.168.1.2</remote>

           </media>

</configuration>

Sorry, I tried to read the instructions from the site and got confused. Can I run the config file directly on the cd or do I need to have media player on hard drive then choose cd?
