all i can say is even with tsop flash it wont work cause tsop is crapped get mod or replace the oe u got

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!
KUDOS to anon for providing the solution! Just yesterday I had my x-box over at a friends house. When I took it back home and tried to switch it on, it booted three times, the two first with a green light, the third time freezing in red/orange flash. Screen was black. However, if I pressed the eject button while the box was doing it's red/orange flash routine, I would get a small green blob on screen (frozen), and the boot-sound would play. As I remember my dvd-player could eject. I have spent all day reading on the net to see if anyone had encountered the same problem, finally reading this thred to see if any suggestions were offered. Interestingly nobody seems to have tried anon's tutorial for fixing this problem before. I followed his (or her?) instructions, and the box is now working properly! I did not bother to remove my pogo-pin installed chip to verify his theory that sloppy removal of soldier can be the cause of the problem. I cannot see how sloppy removal of soldier can leave the box working properly for four months before suddenly comming to a halt, but it would explain why this problem only seems to occur to v1.0 x-boxes. Well, there you go all of you, get out your soldering irons and get to work;)

Hey,
Sometimes my 1.5 powers on and the led is green, but no video
and at other times it frags (red and green)

before this i attempted an ram uppgrade
and i have a flashed tsop, would it be possible that the tsop got erased or corrupted or something?
iwe read of eeprom dissaperance due to the heat..

But my box isn't modded yet... and it's version 1.6.

Is there a similar trace on v1.6 boxes that anyone knows of?

I had this problem with a system. It would reboot 3 times then do the orange and red as described before. No video or sound. I left it unplugged for about a week. It came back to life. I rebooted it several times and got the MS dash like it was supposed to. Then i didn't check on it for about 24 hours left it plugged in and to my dismay the problem has reapeared. so i'm unplugging it for a week in hopes that it will come back again.

I've got a box standard V1.1 that's doing this FRAO and have just read this entire thread.

Mine also works if left unplugged for a while, but it's an hour or so in my case and it will work again and then lock up after a few minutes, if I unplug it and leave it for another hour or so it will work again and then freeze again. It then does the FRAO (3 boot attempts then fragging red and orange) relentlessly.

It's not the pin 5 thing mentioned by ANON as it has full continuity there and the LPC is totally unmolested (the XBOX was sealed when i got it this morning).

It's not (or doesn't appear to be) overheating (although the fan is SLOW), I've removed both heatsinks and cleaned them and the CPU / GPU and reapplied themal goop, the MCX chip is cool to the touch.

It's not the PSU as it's giving steady volts (but I will swap it out for another one to be sure).

I'm pretty sure it's a video issue though but I don't have the proof for that assumption

Should I go ahead and do a TSOP split and flash on this? It should work with a linux BIOS according to what I've read so far is that right?

Hmmm just thought I'd fixed the V1.1 mentioned above using the red orange method here:

I decided to give it a go even though I had continuity between pin and the via mentioned on the top of the board, because when I tested on the back there wasn't continuity. Any way it worked and was left looping the Agent Under Fire intro and then froze with noise after about 10 minutes and is doing the FRAO again.

WTF!! I thought it had solved it!

Will recheck my connections.
