My xbox stops at the beginning of flubber animation. I still have sound but it never goes any farther that that.

I had this happen to me. I remedied it by resoldering the chip, this time using the PIN headder and D0 on the under side of the MOBO. I thought I had a rock solid wire install but I guess not. I would be able to boot the Cromwell bios fine, but the X2 bios would frag. I thought screwed up the flash. I ordered another chip, when it came I installed the PIN headder and tried the original chip and it worked perfectly. Now I have an extra X2 2.3b PRO

I bought this X-box off ebay when i got it, it booted fine and ran games but now it does not boot at all. Press power it comes on, flashes green, goes off, comes on, flashes green, goes off, comes back on, then flashes red and green, nothing on screen. have taken apart no mods or anything done to it.
like I said it worked fine unplugged it to move to another room then it started what i described any help is greatly appreciatedin advance. I have another one so i'm not to afraid to try much.

I had the same problem, but it appeared that I was using the advanced scart cable, switched over to the standard cable and problem solved!

I'm going to try to flash my eeprom and replace my hd with a new one. I have to wait for a friend to image his xbox hd. He is also going to give me his eeprom. I will let everyone know.

OK,
I was trying to install EL wire in my box and in doing so I might have messed something up.

You see, the EL wire comes with a square bulky inverter box that I did not know where to place, so I put it right on top of the MoBo underneath the DVD drive. I'm not sure if I have scratched any of the traces. I used a magnifying glass and everything looked fine to me, but I'm not an expert.

I also don't see anything on the screen when I boot up. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. When I first power up, the screen flickers but that is the extent of it.

I've been using this modded box for almost a year so the Bios is all set, the chip (Matrix) was mis-aligned but i fixxed it and still does not boot up correctly.

Can somebody please help.

Let me explain the Difference for you noobs:
2 LEDs on the front of XBOX, 1 RED, 1 GREEN

when they flash alternatively = RED/GREEN Flash more commonly referred to as FRAG (FLASHING RED AND GREEN)

When they flash Red By itself and then Red/Green at same time you Get a RED/ORANGE flashing that is being described at the beginning of this post.

The idiots in this forum are making it near impossible to get any kind of organized information into a post.

PLEASE DO SOME SERIOUS READING BEFORE YOU POST...

I totally agree, this post started with a VERY PROMISING FIND - that linux would run on an otherwise stuffed xbox.

I am watching this with great anticipation as to see whether different bios will work or if the eeprom is corrupt in leech's xbox, and by replacing it the xbox may work again (suggested earlier). A number of red/orange xbox's show up on these forums, with very little known to fix them (apart from the broken reset trace tutorial).

Please dont fill this post with noob rubbish, make sure it is relevant first (ie your xbox flashes REDORANGE and you HAVE tried booting linux on it, or fix suggestions).

Setup
Xbox ver 1.0 with a xecuter 2.3b pro using the pogo connection.

Problem:

My xbox flashes red/orange with the original bios and executer 4981 bios and evolution m7 bios. I get a flubber ball that locks up on my TV and I have sound. I can not ftp to my xbox or play any games.

Solution:

I am still waiting on my friend to give me an xbox image on my 120 gig hd to test hd swap. If I flash my bios to cromwell everything is great. I would like to find a way to run evolutionx on a linux bios so I can grab my hd unlock code to backup my original eeprom off the hd. If that is not possible I will flash my eeprom with a replacement.

My plan to fix this problem is

1. Replace harddrive with new harddrive with a fresh xbox image.
2. Flash eeprom with my original eeprom or a replacement eeprom. I currntly have a banned eeprom to test with. Thanks to Perplexer and Shanafan.

I will let everyone know what happens. If anyone wants to help just email or PM me

Well Seems I'm posting in this thread again.

My xbox tonite has decided it doesnt want to flash red and yellow anymore.
been at least a full month of red/yellow flashing

only thing I did was power up, then power off real quick cuz I wanted to attach the cat5 cable. Most of the times my xbox wants to wait till after the frag to power off, but this time I think I caught it just at the right timem who knows.

Only other thing I've done recently is to remove data from e:/ freeing up the original 4 gb, cuz someone posted that it caused some interesting issues.

of course I flashed a noanim bios on the tsop Just in case the red/yellow returns.
