Media X Menu is an open source replacement for the Menu X system.
It's much more configurable... I'll have to take a look at how Blinx is doing there demo menu (I don't have that one, yet), but my system was done with configurability and skinability in mind, as well as the notion of adding 3-D and animated effects.
