I feel like an idiot replying to it again, but a google search turned the page up after an x-s search didn't(wasn't using right words).

Did the hex edit no prob, plays in 480p now.  The next question, how to get it to upconvert to 720 or 1080?

This worked with my VGA adapter...what a find!  That dude even got "The Thing" working, even though it was originally only 480i!

ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  ohmy.gif  - YES !!!!!!!!!
those of you without Progressive Scan capable TV's should not use this as it will do nothing for you . This enables 480p playback for DVD viewing [ Increased Resolution by Line Doubling / DeInterlacing = better picture - for those that don't know what progressive scan is ] .

Download Hackman from download.com; it's free and it's easy to use.

480i: most normal tvs display one set of lines, then the other (interlaced)
480p: progressive.  all sets of lines shown all the time.
