Is It Possible To Code Your Own Bios?
« on: August 08, 2002, 01:05:00 PM »

As the topic says, I'm just wondering if it's possible and if speed would be the issue. If not, I'd like to try to do one in C (probably quit before I completed it, but it'd be a project =-). What resources would I need to look at to make an attempt at creating one? It'd be cool to have an open-source BIOS for the Xbox that has every feature you want and then some (XBLive hacks so you can use XBL without worrying about your larger HD or Modchip).
Now that I'm on the subject of features, is the 137GB ceiling on larger HDs in the XBox something that can be remedied by updating the BIOS with the correct functions? How about the fact that a PC-DVD drive, when swapped with the original XBox DVD drive, can't read XBox original games? Please, no flames.... if it any of these ideas are impossible, I'd be happy with a short explaination =-).
