Since he said that having a dongle fitted will allow you to play multiple regions, it follows that you'll have to buy a dvd playback kit. otherwise how are you gonna get the dongle?

how it works :

Very basic when the info from the dongle is sent to the Xbox, our software intercepts it and then changes it region code to the correct one (or incoorect one depending on how you feel about this).  once you have set the region it will stay that way untill you whan't to change it again.

If you remove the dongle out of the xbox the region will be reset back to its normal settings.

Once we have this fully working we are planning on doing some more work to take it even further as that you will not need a dongle at all, cos the software will emulate the dongle and send the xbox faulse info. So the xbox will think it has a dongle fitted. and it will accpt commands from the controler insted of the infred remote control.

This is all in the future though.

also we are trying to find away around doing this totaly legaly with out useing any MS SDK at all.

we currently now that there are a few companys that are makeing the same sort of software legaly and will be selling it retail, but we will be free.

Can you elaborate anymore on a release date?

Some peeps think this is Vapourware, they were told another well respected group is already working on it! with a release date still a long way off.

They think your news is a spoiler sad.gif
Can you put thier minds at ease?

Cheers

Where is the region information kept?  On the hard drive?  Do we even know yet?

I made a comment earlier about spelling... I'd like to retract that comment.  I understand that this is indeed an international forum, which a posters first language may not be English.

I regret my comment.

However, if you are from America (or Britain... or God forbid, Canada), and are making these grevious spelling errors... well, then my statement applies to you.  And you're from Kentucky, I guess.... or West Virginia.

Why not post the software, even if it is beta since if you're going to release it for free anyway what do you have to lose, and you may get valuable feedback from people with different model boxes.

Heres hoping we get this soon - if you won't release the beta, how long till we can expect to be able to download this software?

Many thanks.

to use xdongle....

do we  need a mod with the eject trick ? or it doesnt matter as long as the dongle keeps plugged in to the port ?
