stratjakt that was spoken like a true gamer.... I would rather have Magic Engine ported b4 gens, but some sega cd emulation is a nice step I guess..... who knows maybe jaguar cd and neo geo cd would follow, and hopefully a port, even if illegal, of Magic Engine.....

Sega Cd Emulation On Xbox?

Back on the subject a little.... =-)
I've been scouting around for an open-source SegaCD Emulator for about a week now. Doesn't sound like alot of time, but also factor in that I'm on the computer about 12 hours a day =-)
Anyways, the only open-source SegaCD Emulator I can find can only load up the BIOS for said system. So, unless some of the "advanced" SegaCD Emulators become open source (Gens, Kega, one more I can't remember), it looks like someone's gonna have to code it from scratch. Not a simple task, as I understand.....
Hopefully, I'm wrong and I've missed something.

Anyone have the software and know how to hook a Commodore 1571 floppy drive to the Xbox?

a 1571 to an xbox?  I doubt its possible at all.. The only interfaces I've seen for it use the parallel port on the PC..  And even then, its not useful during the emulation, only for 'dumping' raw images of discs..  And quite frankly, you can download those images on a 14.4k modem faster than you could read em from the original floppies.

The timing for the 15x1 drives was supplied by the serial cable, from the c64.

If the timing signal gets out of sync, because another thread slowed it down while it was drawing the screen - the drive fails, remember the blinking LEDs commie users saw so often?

Anyways, this is why those drives really interface poorly to a PC/whatever..  Even if you could hook it up to xbox, ( i guess maybe via a USB based parallel port) it'd serve no practical use..

Man, this subject went to shit. =-)
First, someone asked if there is (or will be) a SegaCD emulator for the XBox. Someone disses him for wanting to play 'crappy' games. Flame war ensues. Apoligies made afterwards. Someone notes that they get into their videogames. I post my two cents. Then Metroid-X gives me the creeps when  he states that he has a crush on a videogame chick. =-)
Last, but not least, someone posts something _completely unrelated_ to the topic (about hooking an old Commidore floppy drive to the XBox). Just wanted to sum it up in my head, or for anyone else who doesn't want to read the whole thread. =-)
Does anyone else know if there's an open-source SegaCD emulator out there that runs more than just the BIOS?
