Hey guys, Mad Catz, Inc. is going to be releasing a wireless controller in October.  IMHO, looks better than the Logitech one. user posted image Here's the link again, http://www.madcatz.c...product_id=4556

Should a more than possible to do this VERY cheaply, certainly more cheaply than current products.

Lets face it, its only the same technology as CHEAP pc wirless mice only  a little faster.

It's USB with an extra 'sense' line for crying out loud how expensive can it be? The componenants for the wireless side probably cost less than the conventional cable and anti trip connectectors wink.gif

Wireless controllers own. I just want to see a first party one...

3rd party controllers will always suck in quality terms, i really dont know why.

I just hope that the controller won't be like the one i have for n64.
The range is ok on it, but it is so laggy...it got me killed many times on goldeneye. mad.gif

Has anyone heard of a generic way to make controllers such as the xbox ones wireless?  I'm thinking the plug and play features of it will pose problems.  I'm thinking these would be great.  For $20 more, like the Nintendo ones, I would.  No more messed up cables, or leaving controllers on the floor.

Logitech said in a press release they'll make such wireless controllers.
I Think the price was $65.
Can't find where to buy them, though...

It's supposed to go for $69.95, what a bummer.  No release date is set.

In other news:

Private technology development company Eleven Engineering Inc. debuted a demonstration model of its xiSpike system for wireless controllers, which can switch with the press of a button which console the gamepad controls. For example a player could shift from Xbox to a PlayStation without changing gamepads.

The company said it has an agreement with a consumer electronics device maker to will mass produce the device for sale by the peak year-end holiday season this year.

For me, this is much more exciting, see as how it'll probably be cheaper than the xbox control.  Also, since the size of the original is changing (yes, I like the original) it doesn't really matter if you get a generic one like this one.

I hope MS makes a wireless unit because I like the design of the first xbox controller. From the logitech pic, it appears it is small like the S controller. Well, I have big hands and am tired of this small controller bs which is one of the many reasons I hate the PSX so much.
