I have a problem also...Menus look awesome, have tried to put 2 games on one NBA Live and Inside Drive)  DVD boots but when I select either game it kicks me to the Evolution X menu.

Checked and the Menu links to the correct location of the game folders for each .xbe file required..

Thanks

your problem is in the making of the menu

i have made several with 3 games

bloodwake
outlawgolf
wreckless

all work fine

here is where your problem is

after u make the menu with XDImaker  in the MenuX folder you need to open it & make sure there NO spaces ... for example

AMPED  AMPED\default.xbe sshot\AMPED.png   t-micbas MS m          ,   3   4   G   ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿZ   c   AZURIK  AZURIK\default.xbe sshot\AZURIK.png   t-micbas MS {          ,   8   9   R   ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿi   r   CELL DAMAGE  CELLDAMAGE\default.xbe sshot\CELLDAMAGE.png   t-micbas EA GAMES

as you can tell there are NO spaces between AZURIK\default.xbe

if theres a space between the AZURIK & the \ ... you will get booted back to the game select screen.

so u need to look at the menu u just created & make sure there are no spaces .

look at mine then look at yours , i am sure yours will have a space after the name.

i know because i had the same problem! ... then all i did was look at the menu ... saw there was a space. i just backspaced & saved changes & all 3 played fine.

LMK if this help u out!

Damn Snow...Your stuff would have helped me earlier but I thin I found another way...Thanks for the great INFO I will try it the way you did and see if its easier.

Where is what I have..

XBOX Game Selector (Using Complex Information)
FIRST OFF:

Thanks to Complex for the information and files on how to do this cool menu.

I know most people say they don’t like this but I think the menus look a lot better.
May take longer to create but they look better in the end.

I decided to create this to help document in more detail what I had to go through to get this thing to work.

1)   Create a folder on your hard drive (I used ISO like the orginal doc suggested)
2)   Unpack the cpxmenu files into the ISO folder you created
This will give you another ISO folder which contains:
   Menux (Folder)
   Xbmedia (Folder)
   (3) .xbe files (default, backdir and ReDir)
   (1) config.xml
   (1) MenuX-xdi.bat
   (1) XDIMaker.exe
      I didn’t use the Xbmedia folder
    3)   Copy your first game into the ISO folder
      IMPORTANT: Rename the default.xbe to defaula.xbe
3)   Check the second/third game to see if it has any common files as the first game.
4)   If it does check to make sure you will not be overwriting any files from the first game.
5)   REMEMBER: rename each default.xbe to default?.xbe (?=a,b,c)

GRAPHICS

1)   Find what graphics you would like for the screen shot image to be.
2)   Downsize the image to 260X194 and save as .png (Photoshop)
3)   Copy your image files to \ISO\MenuX\sshot (Snapshot)

AUDIO

1)   In the \ISO\MenuX\media there is an ambient.wma file
2)   Create a .wma file of your choice and copy over this ambient.wma
3)   Advanced WMA Workshop is good for this

MENU SELECTIONS

1)   Edit the config.txt file located in \ISO where you unpacked CPXMENU
2)   Looks like this:
TITLE=NBA Live 2002
INFO=EA Sports
GFX=NBA.png (What I called my Photoshop file)
DIR=                 (Leave this blank)
            NOTE:***DIR= is where I had problems

         TITLE=NBA Inside Drive 2002
         INFO=MS Corporation
         GFX=ID.png (Again what I named my Photoshop file)
         DIR=             (Leave this blank)

3)   NOTE: After much reading I found that some games would not boot if not ran from the root of the disc.  Leaving the DIR= blank will help get around this problem with the rest further down.
4)   Now run the Menu-X-xdi.bat file
This will create a menu.xml file in the \ISO\MenuX folder
MAKE SURE YOU MOVE THIS TO THE CORRECT MenuX folder before burning.
5)   Now for the part I had problems with.
6)   The menu.xml file that is created will make both games point to default.xbe.
7)   PROBLEM IS: default.xbe in the root starts the MenuX program.
8)   So you would only have a disc that loops to the Menu
9)   I used Hex Workshop 3.1 to edit the menu.xml before burning
10)   Open the menu.xml in Hex Workshop 3.1
11)   Find the default.xbe entry that is for you first game
12)   Change it from default.xbe to defaula.xbe
13)   Change the next default.xbe entry to defaulb.xbe
a.   So you should have:
i.   \ISO (Where games were copied to)
ii.   default.xbe (for MenuX)
iii.   defaula.xbe (for First Game)
iv.   defaulb.xbe (for Second Game)
v.   and all the folder and files for the games
14)   Start PrimoDVD
a.   Select File\New Job
i.   Data Disc
ii.   Change Volume (doesn’t matter but I do)
iii.   Change Multisession tab to New Volume
iv.   Click Edit\Recording Options Change File System to UDF128
v.   Drag and Drop the contents of \ISO to the PrimoDVD screen and burn

Hopeful this will help.

I took several different ideas from forum post and put them together.  Can’t remember where it all came from to give credit but this was made possible by the XBOX scene, just trying to do my part to save someone a lot of time.

Checked my file like you said and there are not spaces.  My file looks just like yours and the disc still doesn't work..I went back and did it using Hex Editor and it works..Maybe it is the 2 games I'm using...That are picky..

Anyone got this to work off the HD?  It just keeps kicking me back to the EvoX main menu.  I don't have any spaces either...

i dont see why u guys are having trouble with this ... i have made 2 dvd-r with 3 games on each & all work fine.

dvd-r 1

Bloodwake
Outlaw Golf
Wreckless

dvd-2

Azurik
Gauntlet
Nightcaster

are u guys using gameselect or Xlauncher WITH compleX?
(you should NOT )

here are the steps i used to make the 3 game on 1 dvd-r work.

example dvd-2

First  in the iso folder i made 3 NEW folders .... i named each one

1. "AZURIK"

2. "GAUNTLET"

3. "NIGHTCASTER"

I  then put all the games files for each game in there corresponding folder.
(AZURIK game files in the "AZURIK" folder , the GAUNTLET  game files in the "GAUNTLET"  folder & so on).

** NO need to change the default.xbe in any game!**

you now should have IN the iso folder these folders & files:

1. AZURIK (folder with all its game files)

2. GAUNTLET (folder with all its game files)

3. MenuX (folder) ( u should have "media" & "sshot" folders ONLY, if u have a menu.xdi , delet it ...it will be made later)

4. NIGHTCASTER (folder with all its game files)

5. xbmedia (folder) ( u should have "Media" folder , config & default.xbe files) ( dont do anything to any of these files or folders)

6. backdir (file) (dont NOT alter)

7. default (file) (do NOT alter)

8. ReDir (file) (do NOT alter)

thats all u should have in the "iso" folder.

9. open notepad to make the config.txt ....

    -----CUT------
    TITLE=AZURIK
    INFO=MS
    GFX=AZURIK.png
    DIR=AZURIK

    TITLE=GAUNTLET
    INFO=Midway
    GFX=GAUNTLET.png
    DIR=GAUNTLET

    TITLE=NIGHTCASTER
    INFO=MS
    GFX=NIGHTCASTER.png
    DIR=NIGHTCASTER
    -----CUT------

then i saved it as "config.txt" IN the "cpxmenux" folder.

You should have in the "cpxmenux" folder:

1. iso (folder) (with everything stated above)

2. cpxmenux.nfo (file)

3. MenuX-xdi.exe (ms dos file)

4. XDImaker (ms dos file)

5. config.txt (the one u just made) ( if there was one there already, move it or delete it)

6. run the XDImaker.exe in ms dos

7. type in this command:  XDIMAKER config.txt iso\MenuX\menu.xdi

8. NOW look in the MenuX folder & you should have a "menu.xdi" file
(so in the MenuX folder u should have "media" folder , "sshot" folder & the menu.xdi file).

9. open the menu.xdi file & it should look like this:

XDIw                                 Ks àýô        ¬ó øëý    ”ó °²à€k0ó ìò    õ §ûwHdøwÿÿÿÿØó #eøw  Ðó     äó    ýšèwØó  ›èw      Ü·A Ҋèw  |@  ô ³Ds  à6³Ds    !ËQs    üO     0ô š²Ds@ €  (ô ,ô $ô 6³Ds    <   à    õ ¿@ @ m          ,   3   4   G   ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿZ   c   AZURIK  AZURIK\default.xbe sshot\AZURIK.png   t-micbas MS p          ,   5   6   K   ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ`   i   GAUNTLET  GAUNTLET\default.xbe sshot\GAUNTLET.png   t-micbas Midway |          ,   8   9   Q   ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿi   r   NIGHTCASTER  NIGHTCASTER\default.xbe sshot\NIGHTCASTER.png   t-micbas MS

if you look carefully u can see there is NO spaces between:
AZURIK & the \default.xbe
GAUNTLET & the \default.xbe

if you have:        NIGHTCASTER  \default.xbe .... then this will cause the kick back to the select screen.

it should read:    NIGHTCASTER\default.xbe

now your ready to burn!!! biggrin.gif

1. drag & drop all the files IN the "iso" folder into prassi

2. you should have on the prassi data area the following folders:

AZURIK
GAUNTLET
MenuX
NIGHTCASTER
xbmedia
backdir
default.xbe
ReDir

3. burn with the usual settings

4.  play ALL 3 games flawlessly

5. any questions ?

Hi,

Columbian Snow, if i make a DVD with 3 games and i don't have problem, all the games works ok, but with more of 3 games in the same DVD , one of them hangs on the COMPLEX Menu.

Try yourself with 4 or more games in the same DVD and tell me the result.

Thks.

Thanks for the info Snow,
I tried your steps even with the same games and the piece of shi@ still kicks me to the Evolution X screen....

I was using Princo DVD-RW trying some other kind now.....

The way you are doing it sounds idiot proof...Maybe I'm an idiot...LOL

I think it may be media or my DVD Writer...

Thanks will post after test...
