I think certain DVD drives will be able to read them.  If not, the scene should be figuring out a program to explore the discs dynamically through the Xbox DVD rom itself.

So PC DVD-ROMs cannot read dual-layered discs?

well umm... cdrwin can backup a backup, hell any cd copy software can copy a backup... no big deal....

there are special drives made for the pc designed to be used with the XDK... I wonder if these would work..... maybe a hacked version of the XDK emu proggie...

and the fact that when u attach another dvd drive to the xbox you need an original in the xbox drive, would hint that there is something up with that yellow cable.... DeMOnS I would like to know the pinout as well....

Its nice to know that I'm not the only one that thinks theres somthing funny going on with that yellow cable.

The fact that you need an orig disk in the Xbox drive to boot from the 'external' drive suggests this very strongly as where else is the signal coming from since the IDE cable isnt even attached.

Damn I wish i had the test equipment and sufficient time to provide some answers.
