I know for sure that it would be possible for a n64 emu.  I can't wait.  I would also like an adapter so I can use the n64 controller on the xbox at the same time.  I never owned the n64 and just got two full cds totalling 64 games on them and a controller adapter for my computer so i'm livin it up with the quasi-oldie games.

I have a link to share that shows a dev xbox playing a n64 emulator with n64 roms.

These pictures would be pretty easy to fake and haven't been updated in a long while so I wouldn't get hopes up.  Just thought I would share to see what people thought.

I can imagine playin Paper Mario or Zelda64 Majora's mask on Xbox..... WOW it would be great......

but in all honesty wouldn't it be kind of hard to do? alot of game roms are so unplayable on pc still so imagine them on the Xbox...

oh well one can only wait and see...

Try the emu Project64.  This is the best I have found.  I'm halfway through Zelda64: Majora's Mask and there hasn't been anything wrong with the emulation or the frame rate to stop me from playing.  Its almost perfect.

i guess since the emu runs on our pc it shouldn't be too hard to port it to the xbox. i remember ultra HLE which used directx, since the API's from windows and the xbox are nearly the same we can surely expect an emu some time

Yes, due to the similarities in both hardware and APIs, moving pc emus to xbox should be pretty easy.
I've never had very good luck with the software emus, but got the best results from Proj64.
I'd venture that if you had the top 3 emus (Proj64, UltraHLE,  Nemu) all  tweaked (custom settings for various games)... you'll get like 30%+/- of all released titles(roms) to work.
The low success rate is what prompted me to just buy the Z64 (add-on for N64) which gives basically 100% compatibility ( exclusion of about 2-3 titles which are of the 512mb variety ).
Z64s can be had for about $150-175 now used, and allow you to play 200+ N64 titles ... pretty good investment vs. time/hassle/incompatibility of the pc emus.
IMHO. ;-)
Bleem! however, as playstation emu... seems fully compatible and truly gives great graphics/speed ( graphics are truly rendered/mapped and make psx games look closer to N64 quality ...on the pc).
Cheers,
-dp
P.S.  re: pc-emu speed(vs xbox) 2 yrs ago when I ran the emus on a 550mhz K6-II, the frame rates were a little slow... however now with 1g+ Athlon it's great... and I image the speed of the xbox + nvidia would give great emu frame rates.

StrmnNrmn coded a daedalus (N64 emulator) port for Xbox. For legal reasons he's unsure if he's gonna release the xbox port or not.

"A few months ago I was a bit bored after work and I thought I'd have a go porting Daedalus to run on the Xbox. Initially I was expecting it to take a couple of weeks, but I managed to get it up and running within a couple of hours (most of the time was just spent stripping out Windows specific code). Since then I've added a couple of cool features to take advantage of the Xbox's hardware: namely a couple of directly defined pixel shaders that precisely simulate the N64's combiner and blender. I've also managed to get fogging to work correctly for the first time, as well as the second detail texture that's used for certain special effects. I'm now looking at adding these features to the PC version of Daedalus too. You can see some of the first screenshots here.

I've not yet decided what I'm going to do about a release yet, as I'm pretty sure my employer won't be keen for me to release an executable (I'm guessing it goes against our developer's license with MS). I've been playing around with MAME-X this week and I'm interested to see what happens with that. When I get around to releasing the next version of the source for Daedalus I'll probably also post a set of diffs in order to make the Xbox build, for any other Xbox developers out there to play around with. In the meantime I'll keep posting screenshots and progress reports up here."

I found this on xboxhacker.net
