Xbpartitioner And X3, F Format Get Reset
« on: December 06, 2004, 09:00:00 PM »

X3 has been great to work with, and I have come a long way with my first mod.

What I am trying to do is run Gentoox with a native install of the F drive.  I have a 250gb drive, and I want to install native to F with only 20gb, and give the rest to G for apps and stuff.  When I use XBpartitioner, I write a new partition table and format, but X3 bios shows F as 129gb or so.  All of the settings are labled as give upto 137 to F, the rest to G.   :uhh:
If this is the isue, is there a way to change that?

I am using 1959 bios.

If there is a setting I am missing, or perhaps adding by mistake, please let me know.  Perhaps I should try a different BIOS, or maybe its impossible?

Thanks for the help!

you have conflicting partition tables, one in the x3 bios and the one on the hdd itself
what you need to do is set the x3 up to use partition table on hdd (i forget where this is but you should be able to find it) then probably should reformat f and g again with xbpartitioner

didn't work?
I tried m8plus, with evtool, same problem.
The setting are always xbox stock, all y, y to 137 then g.
According to x3 you can use saved partition table, whatever that means.  I have tried all LBA48 setting in x3 configlive, and disk tools.
Same issue with M8?

by "all y" I hope you dont mean you checked the box to ignore the on-disk partition table, hehe.

But, unless it has changed very recently, your plan wont work, cromwell/gentoox doesnt support paul b's partition table.
