How Do I Put A Custom Background In Xdsl 0.7?
« on: January 14, 2010, 02:28:00 PM »

ooooh, its too bad it took so long for this question to be answered.  well, for anyone who is interested, here is how you change your desktop BKG in dsl.

find a picture you want to use,

open EMELFM,

in EMELFM browse to /opt/.backgrounds

save your picture you want to use as your BKG in this folder,

close EMELFM,

open up the CONTROL PANEL in DSL,

click BACKGROUNDS,

find your background picture in here, click TRY IT, then INSTALL,

done!

Guess it depends on which desktop you use. I dont have that folder in /opt/ but I looked around and I figured out how to do it. I use fluxbox. Which has its background folder in /home/dsl/.fluxbox/backgrounds   all you need to do is drop your background image there and install the same way.

right, this will be window manager specific.  me, i cant stand flux, so joes works well for me.

i do love how with DSL there is plenty of room for individual preference.  i ran it today off of my main box for the hell of it, and i was impressed.  the speed was amazing.
