X2.6 Wont Flash

Just fitted a X2.6 on a 1.6 everything went well untill I tried to flash the chip :(

It booted to the cromwell screen and then I choose to flash the chip from the cdrom drive the progress bar showed that the chip was being flashed and then rebooted........fine but it rebooted back to the cromwell flashing screen :(

The protect switch was set to off and I choose bank 2, also the bios was a m8_16 renamed to bios.bin and I added a 1,024kb dummy.bin file.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

What I would do is get an early 49xx bios and flash.  Then use Slayer or x-disk to flash the chip once you get going.
