Xdsl Joy/mouse/key Mapping?
« on: March 30, 2007, 12:21:00 PM »

Is there a way to tweak the way the key and mouse is tied into the XBOX controller?

What I'd like to do is run a DOOM Source port or something to that effect (FPS in general), but...

....I'd like to use my joystick instead of the keyboard and mouse since I'm sitting on my girl friend's bed to play.

What I want is to leave the mouse buttons assigned to the triggers,

Right Analog for Mouse Look.

Direction pad as my Arrow Keys for strafing and moving foward and back.

Then I'd like to assign each button to a key on the keyboard.

Really simple actually I'd think, but...

...how do I do this?

With such a small Linux distro, I'd figure it would be great if we were able to use it for games an not merely browing or what ever you guys are using it for.

Yes...

...but there are PLENTY of retro nonGL type games that are totally worth the play. Besides the XBOX port of Legacy was never completed and we never got a port of ZDOOM or PrBOOM for that matter, annnnddd, our port of Hexen and Heretic is in such a low resolution that I can not bare to play them.
Also I was thinking if people can get half-life to run so so under Xwine or winex or what ever it is called, then I "should" be able to play Dark Forces and Dark Forces 2 in software mode without much hassel at all I'd figure! smile.gif

I've pretty much completed everything I'm interested in, in the XBOX library anyhow. smile.gif
