I have installed the chip on my Halo SE box (1.6) and I'm getting the normal three resets and fragging.  I know that the chip has to be flashed externally but I was wondering if anyone had tried to do it with a cd.  Also, if the usb mod (diablo's suggestion) is applied to stop the constant power to the chip can it be disabled to play xbox live (with only the disable switch on the chip).  Any help would be great.

Just another thing, can you install another dashboard? Cuz I tried Unleash X and it didnt work for me, but did everything right.

I have installed EvolutionX Build 3935 and Avalaunch.0.49.1.

Both boot fine but I have the same problem.  

Can't launch any program from the dashboards! Not even an original game on the DVD drive.

So, to clarify, you are be able to boot to the evox disc to initially install evox but not to original games?

Try setting IGR off in your evox.ini, along with anywhere in your Settings in EvoX.

Why does this happen, I am afraid to buy another box...least I get a V 1.6. One of your successes will be my go ahead. So keep this effort up.

you'd either have to how swap the chip into a modded box while it's on and use flashx or evox to flash it, or use a programmer, as cromwell won't work with 1.6 box.

Hey I have an extra 2.2 lite chip and a 1.6 box laying there doing nothing.  Do you think the 2.2 lite will work as well?

I don't see why not as the install is identical.

well i was gona use my box to pre-flash the chip

but will the X2 lite work with a EvoX M8 1.6 256K bios???

if not..someone please email me the 512k version..

Yes.  it will work with the M8_16 bios.
flash it with a 1MB image, too.

There is an explanation how to convert the 256K to a 512 or 1MB one in the bios forum
