Any Plans To Attempt 1.6 Compatability?
« on: May 20, 2006, 08:43:00 AM »

Are there plans to try and get 1.6 support for the various distros, or is someone even working on it right now? I'd just like to know if it's worth waiting around for linux that isn't green and unreadable (I don't have an HDTV), or if I should just give up now. I know very little about linux, so I'm in no position to do anything my self sad.gif

X-DSL. Gentoox had the same prob. Everything is shades of green, and small text is hard to make out. I have a standard 4:3 CRT TV (PAL).

Aha! Fixed!

You see, I read somewhere that the problem with green-ness is due lack of support for RGB SCART connections, and the remedy for this was to connect in Composite mode. I confused Composite with Component (hence "I don't have an HDTV" in first post). Simple enough to fix - I just swap inputs when I want to run Linux. As for overscan, well I'll just sign away a day of my life to fiddling with fbset biggrin.gif
