hmmm, its never been near an xbox before this so i don't think it's locked. I even used the cromwell unlock function (I've pretty much tried everything).

This is what i see from dmesg....

CODE

five root # dmesg | grep hd
Kernel command line: root=/dev/hda3 splash=silent kbd-reset video=xbox:640x480,nohwcursor devfs=mount acpi=hw
    ide0: BM-DMA at 0xff60-0xff67, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:DMA
hda: C/H/S=0/0/0 from BIOS ignored
hdb: C/H/S=0/0/0 from BIOS ignored
hda: ST310014A, ATA DISK drive
hda: attached ide-disk driver.
hda: host protected area => 1
hda: 20005650 sectors (10243 MB) w/2048KiB Cache, CHS=19846/16/63, UDMA(33)
five root #

well, seems like my xbox does not like that western digital HDD, I just cant get it to spin up off the xbox PSU. Like I said earlier worked like a dream when i wired it to my PC PSU. Any ideas why it won`t work (and other HDDs will) - do some HDDs draw more power than others?
