ok its created a loopback file on my F drive.

but how exactly do i go about launching xdsl, it hasn't created a linuxboot.cfg or an executable. do i need to copy them manually off the cd?

nope no good. i'll try and be more specific with exactly what i'm doing.

running xdsl 0.2.1 off cd.

booting into desktop.

right click apps ---> tools ---> loopback install

installing to F partition, (loopback file of 500mb leaving approximately 100mb left on F) ----> standard install ----> autologin. (no net connection at all)

install completed

right click shutdown ---> reboot.

upon reboot i use the xbmc file browser. i find a file 'xdslfs' of 480mb on the root of F. no other files whatsoever created.

i do not have an apps folder on either E or F. if you think it matters, i can create app folders on E and F and then try reinstalling?

ok i'll try that later. its a simple case of copying the three files to E:\Knoppix, the linuxboot.cfg to root of E then default.xbe anywhere and launching?

I had the same question   fromthestars
this is the message I got from Friedgold

The xbox drives are as follows

hda50 = E
hda51 = C
hda52 = X
hda53 = Y
hda54 = Z
hda55 = F
hda56 = G

to mount one just use (for example) mount /mnt/hda55 from inside a xterm. Alternatively click on the arrows on the right hand side of the sceen underneath the cdrom icon until you get to the drive you want, then click the button.

The files on the drive are then accessible in /mnt/hda55
(or whatever drive you decided to mount).

hope it helps

friedgold i have just tried to install loopback again. i did the enhanced install this time and still the only file that gets created is the xdslfs file, none of the other files you mentioned appear.
